For Best Results, Let NET100 Implement Your IP Video Surveillance Network

Today’s cable networks are often required to support full-featured 4K HD cameras over an extended range, which in turn, drives up equipment and installation costs for IP video surveillance networks. One way to save money and discourage unauthorized access to a building or campus is to deploy an IP video camera surveillance network implemented by NET100.

NET100 partner Tellabs offers a better way to implement perimeter surveillance networks using Optical LAN (OLAN). This technology is features both G-PON, symmetrical 10G XGS-PON with bi-directional AES128 encryption, and advanced IP/Ethernet network access controls.

A NET100 implemented OLAN is the better choice for sprawling outdoor networks for these reasons…

  • OLAN extends Ethernet connectivity 300x further than copper networks
  • Fiber cabling provides the greatest bandwidth now and well into the future
  • Many points of vulnerability can be eliminated through the use of OLAN
  • OLAN can lower both CapEx expense and year-over-year OpEx costs

The Tellabs OLAN solution includes Optical Line Terminals (OLT), Optical Network Terminals (ONT) and protective enclosures for perimeter security IP camera networks. Components include:

  • Tellabs ONT140W – Offers 4 gigabit Ethernet ports and is connected by a G-PON uplink. PoE and Class-4 negotiations can be selected on a per port basis. Supports an extended temperature range for outdoor applications.
  • Tellabs FlexSym ONT202 – Features two multi-rate Ethernet ports (one 10G / 5G / 2.5G / and 1000BT, and one 2.5G and 1000BT). High-power PoE supports camera heaters and Pan Tilt Zoom (PTZ). Operates within a temperature range of -40C to +55C, making it well suited for outdoor IP surveillance cameras where higher resolutions monopolize bandwidth.
  • Tellabs FlexSym OLT-mini – This small form-factor OLT supports either GPON or symmetrical 10 gigabit XGS-PON. Its weather tight case, passive cooling, and extended temperature range makes it suited for both indoor and outdoor connectivity.

The Tellabs solution is much simpler and less expensive to operate and requires fewer software upgrades. Its use of fiber cabling protects the technology investment well into the future.
